The event was marked by the opening speech of  the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Dubai, December 1st), who emphasized the need for concrete actions in the face of environmental challenges. "We need concrete actions for an economy less dependent on fossil fuels," stated the President. The return to a leadership position on the global stage was driven by presidential diplomacy, promoting Brazil as an attractive territory for investments.

The president of ApexBrasil, Jorge Viana, highlighted Brazil as an active protagonist in climate change: "Brazil is back, not only as part of the solution but as the protagonist in the global environmental agenda." Carlos Fávaro, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply, emphasized the crucial role of ApexBrasil in uniting the public and private sectors. "Apex played a crucial role, bringing together President Lula's government and the private sector, strengthening Brazil's position in the world," said Fávaro.

Brazil arrives at COP 28 reinforcing its commitment to indigenous peoples and the recovery and preservation of forests and water, recognizing its global responsibility. The country demonstrates not only its natural wealth but also its strength in science, technology, innovation, and diverse economic potentials.

The President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, stressed the importance of implementing the policies discussed at COP. "This is a stage for many ideas, many initiatives, and that is very good for Brazil.
