CNI

Brazil

CNI has been actively participating in climate COPs since 2009, with the aim of institutionally influencing the Brazilian government in international negotiations, strengthening relations with companies and international organizations, and positioning the Brazilian industry as a leader in the provision of solutions for the transition to a low-carbon economy. From 2021, CNI intensified its participation in the COPs by implementing its “Industry Strategy for a Low Carbon Economy” and joining the UNFCCC.

CNI has structured a series of actions at COP29, with a strategic view to COP30. In addition to taking part in the negotiations as an observer member, CNI will coordinate the “Brazilian National Confederation of Industry” pavilion in the Green Zone. This area will showcase Brazilian industry initiatives in the areas of decarbonization, energy transition, climate finance, net zero strategies, and climate negotiations. CNI will also promote the side event “Business Dialogue for a Low Carbon Economy” on November 14th at the JW Marriott Absheron Hotel and the “Brazilian Industry Day” at the Brazilian Government Pavilion on November 18th. Finally, a series of documents will be published, including the “Industry’s Vision for COP29”, presenting the key positions of the sector.
